Swimming

National expectations are that by the end of Year 6 every child needs to be able to swim 25m.  At Aughton Christ Church C of E Primary School we have swimming lessons for all children in Year 4 to ensure these standards are met by all.  These lessons are held weekly over two terms at Park Pool Ormskirk and mean that all children learn to swim this distance using a variety of different strokes.  All children also undergo water safety training. 

Children who did not meet the expectation in year 4 last year will revisit swimming lessons in year 5.  

You can also support your child by taking them swimming at local leisure centres and enrolling them in swimming courses.
